Cleaning Tips and Hacks
There are some cleaning tips and hacks you can use everyday in your house that can just make your life SO much easier! Here are my first 13 cleaning hacks for lazy people like me:
1. Baking Soda & Vinegar – The Ultimate Cleaning Tips and Hacks Ingredients!!!
These two are a power trio together. You can clean your dishwasher with throwing baking soda overnight and using vinegar instead of detergent! Use a HOT cycle. You can also clean your washer with baking soda and vinegar. Throw in baking soda in the washer and then vinegar in place of detergent.
Another fun cleaning hack is cleaning your microwave with vinegar in a dish. I like to heat it up for about 1 minute and then I am able to wipe everything off easier!
2. Vacuum Last – Deep Cleaning Hack
This may be an easy hack…but is so necessary! Especially when you are dusting and cleaning counters. You ALWAYS want to vacuum last so everything is on the floor by that time!
3. Clean Floors Twice – Deep Cleaning Hack
I have seen this hack everywhere and never believed it. I TRULY believe you have to clean your floors twice in order for them to be really clean. This may not be the best cleaning tip for the lazy, but it is important. I use a O-Cedar Microfiber mop (life-changing)! I think this mop is great and actually cleans VERY well! I also love to throw in my mop heads to clean with my microfiber towels.
4. Use a Timer/Cleaning Schedule
This will be two cleaning tips and hacks in one because these are so necessary to do together! I have broke down my cleaning routine to different days instead of doing all the cleaning in one day over several hours. For my cleaning schedule, it works best to clean in little increments of time and tasks instead of spending an entire day on cleaning. For example: Kitchen will be Monday’s, Bathrooms will be on Sunday’s, and so on and so forth
I find that using 10-30 minutes a day to clean up or tidy up is the ultimate deep cleaning hack 😉
I like to use a timer when I speed-clean, such as clean my bedroom or any other room it may be! I give myself 20 to 30 minutes of time to do as much as I can! This helps me so much with focusing and trying to just get it over with instead of procrastinating cleaning tasks.
5. Clean Garbage Disposal – Deep Cleaning Hacks
Cleaning your garbage disposal can be done in many different ways. I use these little pods I get from my grocery store and/or I use lemons to help clean it up as well! As soon as I am done with a lemon or a lime, I throw it in my garbage disposal to clean it up for a minute and then throw away the peel! This is SO useful to get all the juice out of your lemon and also clean your disposal with a great smell 😉
6. Fabric Cleaner Spray – Ultimate Cleaning Tips and Hacks Ingredient!
I have a dog so this may not be as necessary for some people. However, any blood stains/red wine spills/etc… can be gone with a good fabric cleaner spray!! I have used Foley’s, Oxi-Clean, etc. Really you have to experiment with the best types for your fabrics. But they are DEFINITELY something to invest in for your house!
7. Use Socks to Clean Blinds – Easy Cleaning Hack for Lazy
I read about this a few weeks ago and could not believe it could really be that easy. I used an old dirty white sock and cleaned the dust in my blinds SO easily! It was one of the best cleaning hacks and tips for the lazy people like me!
8. Use Wrinkle-Releasing Spray
I do not like to iron my clothes so I use the Downy Wrinkle Releasing Spray! It helps SO much with the wrinkles and you can be out of the door in minutes! I also have heard to throw ice-cubes in your dryer and run it for 10 minutes to help steam out the wrinkles. I will report back on that one…
9. Air-Dry Activewear & Leggings
Okay, this was a cleaning hack and tip I did not know about at all! When you dry your activewear leggings, you are essentially losing spandex/elasticity!! So I like to throw my activewear around the house on chairs/furniture to help air-dry them out!
10. Use Salt to clean Cast Iron
You are not supposed to use ANY soap when cleaning a cast iron, therefore I think you really need to scrub sometimes to get everything off. I have started to use salt to help clean the gunk off the cast iron and it has HELPED SO much!!! It really is easier to scrub and it cleans/scrubs with the salt!
11. Microfiber Towels
I use microfiber towels for all of my wiping and cleaning! I do not use them in the bathroom because of cross-contamination, but other than that I do use them to clean counters/blinds/tables whatever I would typically use a paper towel with.
I then like to clean them in the washer with warm water and a little bit of detergent!

12. Use Soap and Water to clean blender
This one is one of the best cleaning hacks and tips ever!! I would avoid using my blender just so I would not have to clean it! However, I realized a little bit of hot water and some soap and blending that up can help clean your blender faster and easier!! You do not want to us a lot of water because it does foam up pretty quickly!
It definitely does get all of that stubborn gunk out of the way though!
13. Use Tennis Balls To Fluff Up
This was such a good tip to use whenever I am washing my duvet and/or comforter! Throw in one tennis ball with your duvet and you can see the fluff is very real! These are just some of my everyday cleaning tips and hacks that you can honestly start to use now! You just need to get started on implementing one of these deep cleaning hacks and your house will shine on!!
